The machine itself is wonderful & the company I bought from was great. However this machine is not for beginners. I'm an intermediate sewist & I thought this would be a great addition to my juki serger & sewing machine but I barely use it. It skips stitches & messes up if you blink too hard.
Fabulous machine. Does great narrow or wide coverstitch. I watched a video telling how to easily end and remove fabric from the machine. So easy and stree-free.
It cane threaded straight out of the box, which made it very easy to re-thread. The tension settings were spot on for woven cotton, which is the base setting that I use to adjust for other fabrics. This is not a beginner machine, take time ti learn it!
This is my first cover stitch machine. The machine came fully threaded and it was easy to sew. When the bottom thread broke, the lower looper was a little difficult to thread at first, but after several attempts i got use to it. YouTube tutorials helped a lot. I highly recommend JUKI MCS-1500 if you need professional looking seams.
I like the machine. Was a little tricky to get the handle on treading it but once it’s treaded correctly it works great. What I am very disappointed in was supposed to receive a100 needles along with the machine and got 1 pack of five. Amazon and Juli not standing behind what they promised.
Did not receiver "free bonus needles" as advertised.Problem with skipped stitches. Did all suggested no success. Tested same fabric on my Brother cover stitch. No problem with the Brother machine -perfect stitches. Tested various types of fabric with both machines. Brother was consistently better quality stitches. Was replacing the Brother with the Juki thinking it was a better machine. I have a Juki serger and a TL-2000Qi Thinking of returning the cover stitch.
Machine arrived safely and it seems to sew just fine. The only criticism so far is that the tools that come with it are super cheaply made plastic tools, even the hex tool for removing and setting the needles. C'mon you guys, can't you include quality tools? It makes me a bit unsure of the quality overall, but so far seems okay.
I tried my very best with this machine. I bought it in Sept 2021 and today June 21 2022, after watching countless videos, joining several Coverstitch Facebook groups, taking it to an expert, and fiddling with it myself for several hours , adding up to days , I am yet to get a decent stitch out of this machine.I live outside of the US and the purchase was a great monetary sacrifice in both purchase prince and shipping. And now all I have is a piece of junk. Happy for those of you who got a good one, I now have it sitting in a corner, and I have gone back to using my double stretch needles.
