Read the other reviews about the instructions, and difficult installation but had no issues. If you have ever installed a hood, it’s pretty straightforward, 4 screws on top, hook up the hot, common and ground.Yes the instructions could be better (pictures are dark) and the install could be a bit easier, I had to drill some holes as the screw punch outs were difficult to remove. Took an extra 5 mins.Mount plywood to the bottom of your cabinets to make everything flush and easy to mount. Have someone help hold the hood and the other screw it in. Overall about 40 mins from unpacking to working.Th

We don't have a place for exterior venting the way our kitchen is currently set up and have been making do with the recirculating microwave vent that was there when we bought the house 20 years ago. It's as good as any recirculating fan will be. Maybe better. It has a "quiet" setting, but it's not helpful--doesn't pull enough. As far as speed, it's high or nothing. And it's not quiet.The installation was comical. It's very heavy and my husband and I were trying to do it together, so it's a great project if you want to test your marriage vows. As far as we can tell, since we haven't used it for its intended use because our cooktop hasn't been installed yet, it will work well. We can feel the air flow and it mounted very easily into the space. But it looks great, for what it's worth

Quality was poor. Mounting holes were covered up by the fans. This unit is very heavy compared to others, mounting was difficult. The wiring provided was very short, had to rewire power to reach the unit. Seems to be designed wrong or built wrong, the plastic covers on the fan blades rub on the fans. Quiet mode does not work because of the plastic covers; too much friction. The installation manual does not match the unit, mounting instructions are incorrect. Unless you are an experienced installer or engineer, I would not buy this unit. Because of the weight, this is a 2-3 person job.

The product seems to be sturdy and made of high quality material. It has two fans therefore it could be powerful and efficient to suck out the cooking smoke. The exterior is also well designed to give a sleek looking. However, this does not support DIY. Instruction for installation is not very clear and the accessories are not included. On the box of the product it is clearly written that it requires professionals to install but the website did not include this information. I worry how good the post sale service is especially when it comes to replacing parts and other services.

On Installation: This one might be tough for a DIYer. It is heavy. It needs proper spacing for the wiring and will probably need to be drilled for more mounting screws than just the 4 specified in the installation note.That said, I think this hood will do very well for a non-vented unit. Grease filters come out by sliding a button. It has plenty of flow at the highest speed. It does make noise at the highest speed, but is nearly inaudible at the lowest speed. There is usually 4 keyhole openings for ... 4 screws to hold up the unit. 1) These screw holes were oblong knockouts only a 1/4 inch in width, AND they were... 2) placed behind the housing that holds the fan, and 3) near the electrical box that is extremely small AND very sharp! 4) When you remove the knock-outs the fan housing bends out of shape, and shy of beating on the unit with a hammer, that remains bent.
