Energy: Physical Science for Kids (Picture Book Science)

I really like this book. I have it digitally so I can always have it with me. The Art by Artist Shululu, is gorgeous. Appears to be watercolor, I think. It is written in a way that makes a person think. Author Andi Diehn gives good examples, and asks us good questions....though sometimes I wanted her to just tell me the answer....but then she went through a checklist to rule out if something was or wasn’t matter. This was informative, but also very digestible for my third and first grader. I teach science at a homeschool co-op and read this to my first graders. They loved it and learned a lot!

Great science, STEM book! Kids loved it!!!

I love everything about this book, the introduction, the examples, the non-examples...except this one TINY thing: matter is anything that takes up space and has MASS! Mass is different than weight. There is a lot of confusion between the two. I weigh less on the moon, but my mass stays the same.

I purchased this book in order to be able to get some insight on how informative it is in order to determine whether or not it would be a good resource. I found the book educational and informative for its intended age group. The book covers a lot and is a great way to get young children to engage with a book while learning about matter. This book along with others similar ones to it are great must haves in a teacher/parent/kids book collection.

This was a great book! I read it to my class to introduce our science lesson on matter.

My children and I love this book. It's clear, engaging and very informative. Well written with great illustrations.
