I just loved Nightshade SO MUCH! I went into this absolutely blind and truly had the best time. This book has been on my tbr for so long and I am kicking myself for not reading it sooner.If you want a book where he falls first and HARD, this is the book for you! And trust me it was not in an icky or pathetic sort of way. It felt so genuine and the way he wanted to do everything right by her was just so sweet. 4.5⭐️This book had such an amazing gloomy, gothic atmosphere that felt so real. Alex is broody but such a cinnamon roll for Ophelia. Ophelia is a broken yet strong kind of character. The dynamic between the two was slow but so worth it. The banter is top tier and I absolutely love when they finally get together. I enjoyed the side characters and wish we got a little more of them. This book was mysterious, addictive, and I loved reading it. I’m excited to dive into the 2nd book!

I absolutely loved this book! From the moment I started reading, I didn’t want to put it down. The story pulled me in and kept me wanting to know what would happen next.I loved the banter between all of the different characters. Nightshade by Autumn Woods was an okay read for me. I enjoyed the banter, and the pacing felt comfortably in the middle—not too fast, not too slow.That said, I can’t say I loved the characters. They came across as quite immature at times, though that may be partly because I’m older than the target audience. This was a 5 star read for me all the way up until the part where, I guess you would say, it got a little spicy. That part lost me a little bit, just because it felt like we had such a slow burn journey. Building to something that just felt anticlimactic, and that bummed me out a little bit, and then to have that direction changed like that, made me start looking at other elements of the novel. I had so much fun reading this.The banter between the main characters completely made the book for me. It was witty, playful, and gave the enemies-to-lovers dynamic exactly the kind of tension I enjoy. Every conversation between them kept me wanting more.The story moved at a good pace, and by the end I was invested enough that I’m already waiting for book two.
