The D7500 came out in 2017, is one of Nikons higher quality models from that time. Does not have latest tech compared to latest cameras or even phones. But for my needs, its almost perfect. Excellent viewfinder, awesome battery life (typical of dslr's, and one of the advantages over mirrorless cameras). So easy to get a great image. Fast accurate auto-focus. This camera, although it would be considered “dated” by younger generations of photographers, is still very much a powerhouse and a must have for anyone wanting to take photos in a variety of situations! This is a step up from the previous DSLR I owned so there is a small learning curve for me as far as the features. I also consider it a step up from the z50 mirrorless I own. While mirrorless is lighter weight, there are situations where it just isn’t capable of doing what I need.The real test for this D7500 will be marching season during halftime shows, but as of so far, I’m impressed! Very nice upgrade from my old Nikon Coolpix A900. High quality photos once you learn how to use manual mode. I like being able to control light with the shutter peed/F-stop. I have not used to flash yet because I use manual mode. Great combo with the lens (18-140mm). I have since bought a 70-300mm Nikor lens. It may be out-dated but, I LOVE ths camera. BIG upgrade for me. Nikon quality!

This is a great camera. I got it in June 2025. It's now Feb 2026 and I have had NO ISSUES with it at all. If you're coming from an older Nikon, like I was, it'll take time getting used to the buttons/settings being in different locations (which is weird lol) but other than that, it's been a great camera. You tube has some helpful videos on using this camera and learning that settings.

Loved it but still learning its intricacies!

3 week update: Have used this camera daily. It is simple to learn, simple to use, a real joy for wildlife. After 3 week the menus and controls are becoming more 2nd nature. Because of all the features I expected that it would take longer to start feeling familiar. Occasionally I have to go back to a reference to find what I am looking for, but really, this camera is an amazingly intuitive piece of technology even for a beginner.Your camera takes good pictures goes the joke. It is no joke with the D7500.I have used the Coolpx P900 for ~two years. I have never used a DSLR. The D7500 is my first.

great camera. still learning all the bells and whistles. Replaced a much older Nikon I lost in a housefire. I had my old camera down but now I am a novice with this one.
