These are an incredible deal for the price. They are very sharp, comfortable to hold and seem to be made well. They come with individual knife covers, no block. The black color is stricking. I have not had them long enough to know if the black chips over time. However, I keep mine on a magnetic knife rack on the side of my fridge and I have hung them up, taken them off of there, used them to cut, and washed them, and I haven't noticed any scratches or wear to the black so far.
