Packaged nicely in a foam padding, each knife comes with a protected tip to make sure they show up in your hands in perfect condition.Each feels like good, heavy steel construction, and the full tang weight is evident when you hold the knives. Each blade is stamped with "67 Layer DAMASCUS Steel VG-10 Core". A 67-layer Damascus steel blade means the knife is built with a hard central core steel, in this case the VG-10, core sandwiched between 33 layers of softer supporting steel folded on each side (1 core + 33 + 33 = 67

These knives are well constructed, balanced and have the heft I want in a cutting blade. They arrived very sharp and after three weeks of daily use (on acrylic cutting boards), they retain their edge. I’ve used them on everything from cutting/trimming pork shoulder roast to preparing broccoli and thinly slicing onions. They came in a nice gift-style box and we are considering these as gifts for our children’s kitchens.

This 3-piece Japanese style Damascus chef knife set comes so beautifully packaged in an extravagant looking, foam lined box & is ready for gift giving. The beautiful box, however, is not the most practical way to store the knives for everyday use. We would rather have them easier to access. The knives are very sharp. The curve of the handles & the weight of the knives themselves make them feel very comfortable in your hand & easy to work with. They have a very sleek, expensive look to them & perform very well.

This 3-piece set of Damascus steel chef’s knives would be perfect to keep in one’s own kitchen or as a gift for the chef in one’s life. They arrived in a very nice presentation box. The knives fit well and comfortably in my hand for use, though the handle on the utility knife is noticeably a little smaller. They are beautiful and a joy to work with.
