This is the best "soundbar" system available today. There's a tendency for reviewers to over hype products but I have to say the Sony Bravia Theater Quad lives up to all the reviews. As an enthusiast I have three home theater systems in my house. The main theater has a 135 inch projector with a traditional, large, multi-speaker 5.2.4 Dolby Atmos system powered by a Denon X4500H receiver and speakers placed all around the room and in the ceiling and two 15" ported subwoofers. I've had this for a few months now. If you're interested in balanced enveloping sound this is an excellent option for under 3k (a good value). It feels very balanced and makes movies a pure joy. A sub is necessary and I'm happy to hear the new 9 is an option. It integrated with my Bravia 9 easily with the android app. Over 20 years, I've had 5.1 along with 7.1 with good speakers and high end head units and this is my favorite.

Did a lot of research. Im a recovering audiophile from the 80s. Let go of the big amp and awesome speakers and went with this sleek system. My wife is still celebrating. What a fantastic system. I you're not into assembling a home theater system piece by piece, this system is for you. Out of the box the surround sound is amazing! Easy to set up. Just incredible sound. I added a SW5 sub to it to fill out the bottom for my home theater room. Simple, and speaker placement is very forgiving as it automatically will tune the sound depending on where your speakers are and the room it's in.
