The best $10 or $20 you can spend for pain relief. A must have.

At 35 years old, I began having a ton of shoulder / upper back pain that was related to my day job as a graphic designer...So naturally I went to multiple massage therapists, all of whom practice trigger point therapy themselves! And while I was getting relief, I’d end up right back in pain the day I got back to my desk and knew we were not getting to the core issue. Enter a rabbit hole of YouTube videos on myofascial release techniques, trigger points, stretches, and a recommendation for this book. $10 for the kindle version? I spend more than that on pain relief cream! One of the first things

Back pain? Feet pain? Muscle aches? This SAVED ME. Six years of updates! *UPDATED JAN 2020*

I was ALWAYS a very fit woman even in my 40's. Nothing extreme, just always moving & energetic, great diet, etc. Until I turned 41 - my back started giving me trouble. Fast forward to me going to PT to get my back in better shape in Fall 2012. Then late Dec 2012 - PT is great until one rushed day when she stretched my right leg too far too fast. Didn't feel like anything until 2 hrs later, OMG, the pain in the sole of my right foot & low back! I couldn't walk without a limp. I had never had foot pain before, ever. I couldn't sit on anything soft because of the pain it would cause my low back.I

Avoided surgery, fixed "carpel tunnel" for me.

If you have pain and are willing to work, buy this book. Learning the knowledge, working trigger points (can be painful), and being consistent are not easy things. If you are willing to do this, I recommend this book. Removing pain can be a life changer and this book can help you fix the issue!I had "carpel tunnel". I took a break from using computers for a month. When I came back, after 5 minutes of using a mouse, I was in tears. Doctors gave me muscle relaxers, I tried physical therapy, I even had an EKG done. Doctors offered surgery for "carpel tunnel" as the next option.Surgery involves cu

Well written and offers the kind of detail I needed to take on a painfully debilitating problem

A little over three years ago, I fell from a height of two stories and broke both ankles. This life-changing event actually pushed me into teaching Mathematics and Science. So, the experience was not all bad. Unfortunately, I did not get the kind of medical attention I should have, and the consequence was that I severely damaged my right shoulder which bore a large part of the impact. Over time, the damage to my shoulder has become more evident - chiefly in the form of a disorder called "Frozen Shoulder Syndrome." I have slowly lost range of motion, and I've experienced increased more pain on

It's body and mind connection...no, not a new age hack, but based on neurosciene

This is a gold mine. I have been using this manual since 2009. Trigger points came to my attention when I developed a tennis elbow I couldn't get rid of for nearly two years of various therapies and treatments. I learned about TPs from the coach of the British Olympic sprint team. My search lead me through multiple websites and eventually I got rid of the point in a minute. It was so amazing that I though it was some sort of placebo effect. Then I attended to a rotator cuff problem I had developed when a ski boarder pulled my arm when she couldn't control herself at very high speed. That was al

Relieving pain in multiple problem areas!!

This book is in one short word, AWESOME!!!! If you haven't had trauma (such as impact from a fall or some other object making painful contact) to a joint that is causing you problems, i.e. pain, then most likely it's a trigger point issue, and even if you have had such trauma like I did (more below), you can still use this book to help. I recommend this book to all my friends who have joint problems. I've helped my wife with her problems as well.My background:I play badminton 2~3 times a week. Though it's only recreational, I play hard. I started to develop pain in my shoulder. I have pains in

It would be impossible to recommend this book highly enough

It would be impossible to recommend this book highly enough. When I was younger I destroyed my body with impressive dedication, and have suffered most of the soft tissue injuries that are possible - hip, shoulder, back, neck, knees, elbows, wrists... you name it. I've had surgery recommended to me by a few MDs and DOs, and have been a regular with chiropractors and acupuncturists since my early teens. This book is a literal miracle that has revolutionized my life and allowed me to return to all the sports I thought were long behind me. Claire Davies first provides a great groundwork for people

My favorite

I'm a firm believer in trigger point pain being the cause of most of my pain issues. In general if theres no swelling where it hurts, then for me its usually referred pain from a muscle elsewhere.I have several books on trigger point therapy, but this one helps me find the offending muscle most quickly. For example I woke up this morning with heal pain, checked the book, massaged my calf where the book sent me, and now the pain in my heel is gone.I found out about trigger points and referred pain over ten years ago. I was on a beach vacation when my ankle just exploded with pain while going up
