At first glance, and without too much inspection, this seems like a really nifty little knife set. The draw for me was the Santoku knife, since I didn't have one prior to getting this set. I've been kinda puttering along on a twenty-year-old "Miracle Blade" set that Hubby bought for me one year for Christmas, and I was hoping to retire it with this new set in my kitchen.Unfortunately, that won't be happening.My first, and original, beef with this was the cheap "block" that comes with it.
