This seems like a decent knife set for somebody just leaving home. It's definitely not the best quality, and certainly not a professional knife set - but it is solid and inexpensive. They aren't the sharpest out of the package, and the set doesn't come with a sharpening steel, so you would want to purchase one.The handles are cheap plastic, and the fit/finish isn't great. They are dishwasher safe though.My only real complaint is the wood block - the knives go in a slot at the top but there's a large opening in the block so the blades have to line up with the bottom slot (the block isn't solid)

This knife set is fine at best. I was really hoping that they would be what I was looking for, but they are not. They feel cheap and like the handle might fall off at any moment. They are lightweight and not very sturdy. Additionally, the blades were not sharp at all when I got them. I used them once and will likely not be using them again. I'm planning to keep them as a backup, but would recommend you look for a different set of knives.

This 13-piece stainless steel cutlery set includes 6 steak knives with serrated edges, 5 chef knives, a pair of scissors, and an unfinished wooden block for storage. I like that this set includes all the knives I use most often, and the plastic handles seem to be well-made. I've been using these knives for a few weeks and they've held up well, without getting rusty or falling apart. My only complaint is that the holes in the wooden block are not cut to the correct depths for the knives. Some of the knives go all the way into the holder, while others stick out slightly.
