This is a good product and the price isn't bad if you really need both an Xfinity cable modem and a high capacity router. This is one of only two models that Xfinity recommends for 400 Mbps internet connections that work with Xfinity's VOIP landline telephone service. These are the fastest cable modems that work with Xfinity's VOIP system. And this was the less expensive option (although looking back it might have been worth spending more to get the other choice (a Netgear model) just because of the color. I purchased this modem specifically because I needed the built-in voice phone capabilities, and it has worked exactly as expected. Activation was straightforward, and both my internet and home phone service have been reliable. Call quality is clear, and I haven’t experienced any dropped calls or connection issues.The Wi-Fi coverage is solid for my home, and it’s nice to have everything in one device instead of renting equipment from my cable provider. If you need a dependable cable modem with voice support for home phone service, this is a great option and well worth it.

Really like this modem and it actually works great with my Suddenlink service. Speeds are excellent and the wifi range is very good. There are really only two things I don't like: 1. You can't remove all the references to Xfinity built in to the firmware. I guess that's on me for not knowing that you can't flash this type of device with an updated firmware. 2. I wasn't able to utilize the VOIP ports (suddenlink issue) so the LED's on the front of the modem being non-stop to indicate a telephony issue. A funny backround story on why I needed to replace my router:I've had my old router for 4 years, which was the same model as this. I changed from DSL to Comcast and used this modem/router for that purpose.I connected my laptop directly into this beast to do the setup and it was SO SLLOOWWWWW.. For something that is supposed to be so up to date high end.. it is not in my opinionMy old router had a .254 (settable) ending but this one is static at .1 ending and you can't change it, it appears. This is a really nice wifi modem. The directions are easy to follow and it pretty much self installed. I have an Xfinty service with phone and it could not have been easier to install. Just follow the step bystep instructions and you will be up and running in no time. An Xfinty link automatically handled the acitivation of the phone and internet service with no need to speak with an agent. The only issue I had was with the WIFI no connecting automatically to all my devices. The instructions suggested to keep the same old WIFI name and password and then everything would automatically connectt.

No fear - I was worried about all the reviews mentioning xfinity having a hard time activating this. Maybe I was lucky and got a great agent in the Philippines who went thru it as quickly as I would expect, probably 20 minutes. On paper this product has a lot of potential. However it seems that there was no testing and release plan from the part of Comcast to support this product and train their help desk team. Also, Arris does not care what Comcast is doing or saying about this product.
