    Wonderful improvements to an older model I used to have.

    This steamer is nearly identical to my last one (vendor not remembered) which quit working after about five years. They've made noticeable improvements, however. The drip tray now incorporates the element sleeve and includes a fill box so you can add water during a steam without taking off the trays. You'll only need to do this on 50+ minute steams and be careful not to overload the drip tray if you're steaming something with a high water content like asparagus. They've tossed the digital timer which is a good thing on a forty dollar appliance. Use the timer dial in conjunction with your kitch

    Don't set the timer for more than 30 minutes ever

    This works well and as expected for cooking.The main benefit of this compared to other similar products is the drip pan which may be able to prevent bubbling. this piece also allows refilling the water reservoir which will be a critical part of using it.The plastic is a bit thinner than I would like, and I worry the breaking may be too easy. But it hasn't broken so perhaps I am just thinking about it too much.Mostly I am satisficed with this product. However, I must take off a star because the inclusion of a 60 minute timer is very misleading. I am about 170 meters above sea level (yes that ma

    Had one similar for over 20 years

    I had one just like this for over 20 years until it fell off a counter and broke. I was looking for a basic replacement for vegetables, and this one was perfect. I actually had returned one because it was just too small. This one is the right size for a family dinner. Plus, the water well is open (my old one was built in and had just an opening for the steam. It was a pain to dry), so drying and it keeping clean is a breeze. It isn’t really one you would display on your counter, but it gets the job done better (I think) than the prettier, stainless models that are either too small or cheaply b
