We've had our range hood installed for about 2 weeks now and are very happy with it! It works much better than the old model it replaced (no idea on CFMs or age of that thing but it was time for a replacement, ha). This thing is also BEAUTIFUL which was a big selling point for me.I love that it has buttons only and no digital clock or touch pad... less potential for malfunctions down the road, plus I already have digital clocks on my microwave, coffee maker, and oven all within a foot of each other and this range hood... I can't tell you how glad I am not to have an extra clock to reset every

This hood has worked great for us. The installation was moderately hard but not worth calling someone to do it for you. It is really nice looking. The lights are nice and bright. The suction is adequate. You can only hear it in the next room on high. In the kitchen, you can talk to others on medium. The bottom vents remove for cleaning. I wish they fit a little tighter, but they won't fall off. Overall, I would buy it again.

The product is great! My home health environment has completely changed with this product. I wish that I would have had a vented hood a long time ago. When cooking now, my smoke detectors do not go off in the house. Furthermore, my whole house does not fill up with the grease and food smell as before with a recirculating filer. Last, I am grateful because I am not having the harmful combustion gas staying in my home when cooking.Installation was rater straightforward, and for someone who works with tools this will be easy. This seems to have been engineered for Ik-vomit-ea boxes. It's impossible to mount it flush to the bottom of real cabinets. This hood is assembled with rivets. The rivet heads protrude above the hood's primary assembly. Also, rivet heads stick out the back of the hood. It will not go flush to the cabinet above, nor the wall behind the hood. Plus, the mounting hole locations are placed about 1 inch from edge. Face-frame cabinets use 3/4 inch stock with about a 3/4 inch space under the cabinets' box. I replaced a 1980's oven/stove with a new range and Cosmo range hood. I removed my old ductwork because it was rectangular. When I connected the flexible duct that comes with the Cosmo directly to the range hood, it was really loud even on the first setting because the air hitting the ridges creates a lot of turbulence. I figured out that the range hood can be quieter by connecting a short length of 6" round rigid duct to the hood first. Our over the range microwave broke after 5 years. I didnt want to replace it with another microwave so we decided to add an over the range ducted hood. Installation took me about 2-3 hours since i had to cut my cabinet to line up the round duct. The item came padded and boxed up pretty nice. I visually inspected the hood and didnt see any shipping damage. It did take me awhile to remove all the blue anti-scratch tape that is comes with from the factory.
