Decent monitor for MacBook Pro
I’m using this as the 2nd of 3 monitors with the MacBook Pro (including the laptop’s screen). Seems decent so far. Not too heavy for a 27” monitor. Sharp picture. Colors seem okay (but color is so subjective). Brightness is fine for what I need, which is a monitor for working on retail catalog layouts. A 27” screen allows you to see 2-page spreads at full size with good resolution. So far no discernible flickering and the refresh rate is fine—not causing any issues. My 2nd monitor is a 24” 1080 Dell which was too small for my projects. The sound is alright—not great but about what you’d expect

I've been out of the extra monitor game for a while since I've had an iMac, but holy moly this thing is amazing. Took like 30 seconds to set up, relatively easy to maneuver. Super bright. Easy to connect to my Macbook, both hardware and the controls. I honestly didn't relize monitors these days were this easy or I wouldn't done this along time ago.

Defective out of the box, DO NOT BUY
Out of the box, the monitor was defective. It was stuck in color cycling for 30 minutes, worked for 5 minutes then the screen started showing patches of lines, restarted again and went back to color cycling. This was unacceptable so I initiated return the same day I received the monitor, dropped off at UPS two days later and haven't received refund. My return status has just been updated to "delayed" again, Dell and Amazon does not stand behind their products.

New version was supplied when I wanted it to match the older version I had.
I wanted the old version advertised to match existing monitor side by side but got the updated version. Normally I’d be chuffed, but the slightly different chassis not matching existing unit bothers me from time to time. Nothing technically wrong with it, and I recommend it if your use case fits.
