I love these knives! I purchased them as a housewarming gift to myself, and my first impression was actually how beautiful they are. The contrast between the matte black blades and walnut handles manages to look elegant and a little edgy—no pun intended. They have such a distinctive look that I almost didn't want to use them. Part of me didn't even want to review them because I didn't want them becoming trendy and losing that feeling of having found something unique.But they're definitely not just for looks.These knives are insanely sharp—almost dangerously so. I won’t be trading in my heavier weight chef knives, or my Opinel paring knives, or my favorite boning knives either. But, I do love this three piece set of lighter, thin-bladed “Japanese” knives. (Um, made in China as per the PRC on the packaging label.) They are affordable and attractive, and unlike some more negative reviewers, quality control on the set I received was great. No dings, misshapen bumps, protruding tangs or rough spots. Although, I would confess, the blade spines are not rounded, rather they are ninety degrees at the edges, and might get uncomfortable on the hand, especially

The deals that hold the handle together stick out too far. You can feel a sharp edges with your hand and fingers. very disappointing the nice look real nice and are sharp. I like it and I’m keeping it.

Love, love, love these knives!!!! This is the kind of purchase I like to make when I can touch and feel the product to make sure it will feel good in my hands. I bought this sight unseen and only by the reviews and only by the look of the knives. With all of that said, when I received them and was able to handle them and use them, I absolutely love them from the first cut!! They are very sharp and fit my hands great!! I recommend these if you have larger size hands and need good control of the blade. They are lighter than I imagined but are very controllable and precise. Easy to care for. DO N

Really nice set of knives. They are not Thick and heavy, nor paper thin and light. Just the right thickness and weight. These are super sharp and holding up very well. I only hand wash these, but feel that they would be dishwasher safe . The handles feel natural in the hand and are very comfortable. I have not had to resharpen any yet after a month of use, edges hold up well. Really good value for the money and easily get the job done. I really enjoy using these to cook with.

Yearish later and still razor sharp. Wife loves them, and definitely doesn't treat them like a fine piece of cutlery, yet they're still top notch. Easy to sharpen and seems to handle typical kitchen "abuse" extremely well while maintaining a great edge.
