Excellent book. Informative and helpful in dealing with pelvic floor issues
This is essential reading for women - and frankly doctors who treat women (not only gynecologists, but ALL doctors). Floored is direct, easy to understand, and incredibly useful. There is a corresponding app through the Vagina Whisperer website, and the exercises REALLY make a difference. I had a grade 2 pelvic organ prolapse, but I have been able to reverse it, and improve the symptoms drastically by performing the exercises. The knowledge and time-commitment is well worth it.Just SO excellent. I recommend this highly and have given the book to my sister and nieces who've just become mothers
An amazing educational book that all women should read to understand your body- your pelvic floor, and how to deal with female anatomy - birth, menopause, prolapse, urinary incontinence...
I thought this book did a great job educating the population on the pelvic floor across the lifespan, from puberty to pregnancy to menopause and beyond. It also introduced many topics - incontinence, urgency, constipation, prolapse, pelvic pain, diastasis recti, and painful intercourse which affects SO many women. There is even a section on how to get to know your pelvic floor with a mini assessment that many will find helpful. While I feel every female would benefit from seeing a pelvic health physical therapist, and it should absolutely be automatic after giving birth and when transitioning t
This was such an informative and insightful read! The cover says women, but this is a useful read for anyone with a pelvic floor (aka, everyone). The writing is inclusive and easy to follow. I learned a great deal about my own body; things I certainly should have already known, but American healthcare is a failure on so many different fronts that it's really no surprise that I wasn't aware of so much. The chapters are short and easy to follow - there is great sensitivity taken because we know that this is a topic that can (and does) bring up shame, but I have tools and tips to use now to work o
This book has been incredibly helpful in resolving my postpartum leaking issues, something I honestly thought I’d just have to live with forever. I was relying on panty liners and period underwear just to get through the day, but now I can sneeze or workout without worrying about accidents. The author’s writing style is warm, approachable, and easy to follow, which made the whole experience feel supportive rather than clinical. It’s such a relief to have a resource like this, written by a woman who truly understands what so many of us go through.
I’m 41 and I learned so much from this book. There aren’t a lot of books about female anatomy that aren’t focused on pregnancy or getting better at sex. This book teaches you what your pelvic floor is, how it works, and how to keep it healthy, with a professional but conversational tone. I bought three copies to give to family members, and I’ve recommended it to so many people.
