Not a rehab professional, but I still found this book incredibly informative and applicable to my exercise goals. I had a recurring calf strain that I was able to rehab successfully on my own. The exercises are organized well and gives me a reference when mixing up my workouts. Knowing what exercises to choose was a major burden for me. I no longer have that issue. 10/10 would recommend.

This is a must have for early career PTs as well as seasoned clinicians. The step wise progression of exercise is immaculate. Dr. Mattera has offered a very well referenced compendium of all things exercise. I find myself pulling it out to treat myself even as one of those seasoned clinicians.
I recently explored Strength Training and Exercise Prescription for Rehabilitation Professionals: An Evidence-Based, Therapeutic Exercise Textbook, and it’s an outstanding resource for anyone in rehabilitation, from those with a moderate background in strength and conditioning to advanced practitioners. This textbook masterfully bridges foundational and expert-level knowledge, offering evidence-based insights into therapeutic exercise and strength training protocols. Its clear, structured approach ensures accessibility for learners while providing the depth needed to challenge seasoned profess
As a pediatric physical therapist, I often found myself forgetting key strength training principles I learned in DPT school. This book has been an incredible resource—not only for refreshing my knowledge but also for expanding it in a way that’s highly applicable to clinical practice. It’s extremely user-friendly, with clear explanations, practical examples, and helpful visual guides that make complex concepts easy to understand and implement.I only wish I’d had this book during DPT school—it would have been an invaluable addition to the curriculum. The author’s passion for physical therapy an
I'm a physical therapist and I ordered this for my clinical staff. I felt like we all got stuck in a rut with the usual "PT" exercises and desperately needed a resource. Previously, a lot of our resources came from social media pages that rarely are evidence based, unlike Jenna's book. The detail, the images, all are helping us as clinicians safely progress our patients and get out of our ruts. I would also highly recommend this for any aspiring PTs, PT students, personal trainers looking to get to the next level. It is known that most PT schools lack in education about therapeutic exercises/p
This book is super informative and reader friendly! It’s a must buy for clinicians who want to provide the most current evidence based care. I wish I had this book as a DPT student before/during my clinical rotations. I don’t feel like they covered exercise prescription in as much detail in school so I know it would be a great book to add to any DPT curriculum.
Amazing book. Full of great information.
Incredible resource for all PTs and students in the field. Provides an extensive exercise library that are helpful to think outside the box with exercise prescription for patients. Highly recommend.
