Update: I've had the fan for about three months. I finally got the hang of the gesture controls:-wave left to right for light on and fan speed 1 OR wave right to left for fan speed 4 and no light.They do work most of the time and I have actually enjoyed this feature more than I thought. The fan still blows wonderfully. Overall, a very happy buyer.---I had the same issue as another reviewer regarding the blower mounts missing screws. I have used this brand a couple of times and was attracted to the pretty glass design and the high CFM for the (great value) price in my latest kitchen remodel.I did receive it with a broken control board (it would not turn on) but when I contacted their customer service and explained my issue, they followed up right away with the express shipping of a new motherboard which was a breeze to replace.The trick with high CFM vent hood is to properly install the right ( rigid ) duct to keep the noise down; spending more time and money on preparing that essential step will keep any vent hood quieter

Pulls a lot of air, looks great, but definitely not quiet

This Range hood is perfect for what I needed. I have a kitchen island with a cooktop and didn’t want a drop down range hood since it blocks so much of the view. I have 8ft ceilings and the 900 cfm is strong enough to clear out the smoke. I normally use level 2 which is half power. Noise level is normal I would say for something comparable. Installation was easy to mount in the ceiling, just have to find where the trusts are. I can’t use the hand gesture since I’m not tall enough with it being ceiling mounted but someone who is over 6ft tall would have no problem. The remote works great for us

I'm unsure of what to expect, but I'm too far in to turn back. The unit looks great and the features are nice. However, it came so poorly assembled that nuts and bolts were rattling around the box. Turned out to be the fan motor assembly and housing that was basically halfway installed. Took hours to get it buttoned up, as it's a tight fit to work inside the unit. Fingers crossed
