Both were 4k, the old monitor was limited to 60Hz which was sometimes an issue for games.He has been nothing but impressed with this monitor! I was pleasantly surprised with this monitor. It replaced one that cost 3 times as much and I haven't had an issue in 2 months. No dead pixels, color is even across the entire screen and it's got the thinnest bezel I think I have ever seen. I'm sorry LG didn't have the same thing without speakers, as they weren't necessary and I'd prefer the money had gone to improved electronics or a faster refresh rate rather than cheap speakers and a low power audio amp. I will buy a second one though. Nice replacement for two monitors that were damaged during a move. The build quality was equal to LG monit

I love these monitors. If you want a big screen, this is the one I'd point a friend to. I'm planning on picking up a couple more myself.

This is an excellent monitor. I use it with a MacBook. No issues with connectivity using the Mac cable.

The monitor appeared sealed in original box but when opened I saw the panel was split open so I returned it and purchased another one.The second one came and looked fine until it was plugged in - and I discovered it had some defect where any grey color showed up pink. Tested on multiple PCs and cables to confirm the problem was with monitor.After all of this, I may need to make my first trip to Best Buy in 10+ years!
