Cooks the rice good, but as far as just keeping the rice warm, it is probably keeping it too hot and so the cooked rice is getting cooked further and whatever is touching the inside bowl becomes super dry/hard.

I am only sorry that I waited as long as I did to get this Electric Smart Rice Cooker.A friend recently got one and raved about her ability to set up oatmeal (warm, not the cold overnight oats that I don't like) so that it would cook up perfectly for the morning. I know it's a rice cooker, not an oatmeal cooker, but on the "porridge" setting I've made the best morning oatmeals everWater/milk, oats, nuts, whatever... and set the timer for delay, and I have delicious oatmeal in the morning.Of course, it also makes perfect rice!
