For most of my life, my experience with rice has been of the minute rice variety. But I decided if I was going to start buying the less expensive "regular" rice I might as well go ahead and buy a rice cooker. I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on something that was as of yet unproven to me and this one had a pretty fair amount of reviews and it was definitely inexpensive. So far I have cooked white rice, brown rice, and quinoa. I would have to say that it's been a resounding success. This rice cooker is amazing and it is used for so much more than just rice. I’ve made great oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, quiche, steamed tofu, rice pudding, and many other recipes in this little rice cooker. It is very reliable. The cooking time varies depending on what I’m making, but it’s up to about half an hour. The rice cooker automatically switches to warm when it is done. I had to print the instruction booklet online and I wish it had come in the box. The booklet has a lot of great recipes in it.

Worked beautifully, first shot. Went for the full 6-cup result, and it was done perfectly in a surprisingly short time. Once finished, it even keeps the rice warm for you until you get to it. As a cooking klutz who often ruined rice with an ordinary pan, I really appreciate this little rice robot that handles it for me and lets me focus on other things in the meantime. Thumbs up!

This is my first rice cooker and WOW - this is so much better than stove-top rice cooking! I do have a few gripes with it nonetheless. Firstly, the photo of this rice cooker shows a MATTE red finish, but the REAL finish is GLOSSY red. I was really hoping for matte. Secondly, DO NOT USE THE INNER MARKING MEASUREMENT LINES that are on the inside of the non-stick bowl. They are terribly inaccurate and should not be used for ANY measuring. If you add dry rice up the marking that reads "3" on the inside of the bowl, you will overflow your rice cooker and there will be a big mess all over your count
