This is my step up from a previous Aroma Rice Cooker. I was working with a Aroma four cup rice cooker that I bought in 2012. It lasted me until January 2022 when it no longer would heat up when plugged in. Stopped working after 5 uses! Very poor quality- am a rice farmer! Got first rice cooker 50 years ago, generally they lasted decades…. This has poor electronics, overall very poor quality. Do Not buy

I love this rice cooker! I wasn't looking for any particular brand, tho it seems like this brand is solid.The job I work at we use this rice cooker to cook tapioca boba pearls. Oddly it works and we've been using this brand and size pot for almost or over 10 years now! And we will buy it again! We just decided to go through Amazon because Walmart was sold out at the time and we needed this rice cooker asap.The only issues is wear and tear would be the reasons for replacement. This is old reliable. I've used it my whole non-working life when making meals with rice.When you grow up and start to work and make money, buy a smart-rice-cooker though.The smart-rice-cookers keeps warm for days...cooks rice more evenly.....will last longer and has smart settings for different types of rice.I can still see some applications to use the Aroma though.Applications to use this:1) Picnic (lots of rice needed)2) Use to cook non-rice items3) Do not have the money for a more expensive rice cooker.It is good for the price and what it is. I see the bowl always tends to erode with time

This cooker does one thing. It cooks rice - just as well as fancy units costing three or four times as much. I'll admit it's not intended to also function as a slow cooker, a steamer, a grill, nor does it remove unwanted hair. Another thing it does do (that most of the expensive units don't) is clean up easily. Both the lid and the cooking pan are dishwasher safe. Many expensive rice cookers have fixed lids that can't be removed and must be carefully and laboriously cleaned by hand every time. Thoroughly cleaning, and especially rinsing cleaning products from such units can be really difficult
