It's a nice knife set, but I'm not sure the quality justifies the price of $170. An important thing to note is that the appearance of folding is purely cosmetic, see the close up picture. The one‑piece design was one of the main reasons I wanted this knife set. There aren’t any separate handle pieces where food or water can sneak in, and I don’t have to worry about a handle loosening over time. The knives are beautifully crafted out of seamless pieces of metal which makes them very easy to get fully cleaned, unlike the older style wood handles with rivets. I ordered this set as a replacement for the set with block that I've had for several years. My old set was starting to dull and I didn't know how to sharpen them so when I saw this set I ordered immediately.
