The scale weighs in grams, ounces, pounds/ounces, milliliters, and fluid ounces. Straight out of the box (no internet, no app), just turn it on and all you have to do is say "Hello, Vita" and a microphone icon turns on. You then say the food (in photos, I used a banana), and place the item on the scale to weigh. This isn't your typical food scale that simply shows you the weight in ounces or grams. The Housmax AI Voice Food Scale is more of a deluxe food scale with quite a few additional features. I was easily able to weigh my food in ounces, and the display is clear and easy to read.My biggest issue is that I wish I could use the food database and save some of my favorite foods without having to download an app. It seems like so many pieces of equipment these days requires downloading an app to access features that I feel should be available directly on the device. That is a little irritating to me.
