I was on the market for a set of knifes with block. Cooking is my passion. I love to have super tools even tho I am just an ordinary housewife. Since I have to live in my means, I did my research on different sets with different prices range and go through the reviews (love Amazon customer reviews). I finally decided to give this set a try for two reasons. One, the price is only 1/3 of the expensive ones, two, I trust Cooks Standard products’ quality. Knives are strong, well balanced and sharp, however it's the compact well designed block that I really like. The block is narrow but has well spaced knife slots that are easy to grab a knife from. I drilled a 1/2 hole in the wide upper slot to allow for a round honing rod to fit at well.

I really enjoy these knives and the various lengths. The only negative feedback I would give is that I tried to add in my own knives from a previous set and though it has the space to hold my knives, the spacing of the knife holding holes if you will are not spaced far enough out that it is a very tight fit. Lastly, it would have been even better if I could add in my steak knives. Overall though I am very pleased.

I have been very happy with this purchase. I bought the knife set about 7 months ago and use at least one knife almost daily. I think the whole things looks nice and doesn't take up too much space. I didn't want any steak knives, so was happy to find a knife block set without those. I did want a slot to store scissors, and this has that (had to provide my own scissors, but that's fine). I have been very happy with the quality of the knives thus far. I can't speak for how well they hold up over time, but they seem well made, are easy to handle, very sharp, no issues. Overall, I am very pleased

This knife set is excellent for the price. The knife block has extra space for more knives and scissors. The knives have a good weight to them, have solid handles that feel balanced in the hand. The only downside is that I am not used to such sharp knives, lol.

I Have used one of the knives and could not believe how easy it was to cut my chicken! Very sharp. Cannot wait to use all of them. I will do as the instructions directed: Hand wash and throughly dry. DO Not put in the dishwasher. This will prevent the problems of rust as so many have reviewed. Its sad that so many people do not follow or even read the instructions on things, yet are so quick to give bad reviews. I am very happy with my purchase!

Decent knives for the money. They were sharp out of the box but dull quickly with use. I like how they feel in my hand.

Awesome knife set for a home cook. I've had this for two months now. I have no complaints. I was looking for a set that dint have too many knives. It has just what I needed and nothing that i didn't. (a serrated knife (for bread, soft veggies), small paring knife, a utility knife, a santoku knife and a 8" chef's knife). I use all of them. The block looks good and has extra slots which is good. I cook twice daily. Its still as good as new. I would definitely recommend this set.
