The quality of the knives are acceptable. These aren't for showing off a beautiful kitchen, they are for cutting things. The handles are a high-quality plastic, textured for grip. I like everything about this knife set, except that the container has two issues. One, it seems like it is made of cheap plastic. It does not have any substance to it, which could be seen as good because it is not bulky, but I wish it weighed a little more and felt a little sturdier. Two, I wish you could disassemble it so that you could clean it out. As far as I can tell, the only way to clean it is to run water through it. Basic knife set, good quality for what you pay for. The knives are really sharp. They were machine sharpened. I sharpened the chefs knife on a stone and it sharpened just fine. Sometimes with cheaper quality knives, they don't use the best steel which results in poor honing. This was just fine. These are some super sharp knives. I actually cut myself on one just washing them. lol The block is really nice. Has a rather small footprint, which is perfect for my small kitchen. The knives were a little tough to slip in at first, but after the next removal and replacement they were fine. I was even able to fit a few of my current knives in there with the ones it came with. Been using the pairing knife almost daily since I got it. I just wash after use, let it dry, and then put back in the block. Very happy with them so far!
