If you don't need bells and whistles and just want to do straight or zig zag stitching, or if you're a beginner, this is an affordable model for you. Threading the machine is easy, and because there are limited stitches available, you won't get overwhelmed. Just turn a dial to change the stitch. Loving my new Brother sewing machine! I wanted a light weight one and easy to use- but not a mini. It was easy to set up and has plenty of extras! I was able to use it to take in some seams within a half hour of unboxing it!Favorite things: Light weight, long cord for foot pedal, quiet running, front threading needle, removable piece to add extra workspace, full size, extra bobbins, needles and zipper feet. I purchased this as a gift for my little cousin. She’s a teen and was showing interest in sewing, she started the old fashioned way and would always say she didn’t know which machine she would go for and that she couldn’t afford it at the moment. A lot better than I was expecting. I was thinking that it was gonna be like a mini sewing machine, but it was actually full-size, which is great. I like that included the sleeve arm as well. It did not have a self threader. I think one review or a couple said that it did not and it did not.
