I own a high-end Janome Skyline and love it, but do not want to take it to sewing events due to it's weight and size. I purchased the CS7205 because it's an easy and light weight machine that I could take with me. On top of that, I did not want to spend a lot of money on a 2nd machine. It does not have an auto thread cutter, nor an automatic knot feature at the end of a stitch, but I knew that before I purchased it, so that is OK. The CS7205 is very easy to set up and thread. I am a 69 year old female who has been sewing since pterodactyls flew and thats a hell of a long time. I have owned and managed to burn out several top of the line machines including the Viking #1+ , Bernina 880+ the Bernina 750 and Bernina 450, Pfaff 1475CD. This was a gift for my granddaughter. She is enjoying using it. She wanted a machine that was good for quilting. Im not sure how she would actually rate it, but I know she does like the machine.

I did a lot of comparing machines before I purchased this Brother. I was used to sewing on a very large sophisticated, expensive sewing/embroidery machine. The machine has now become too heavy for me to lift to put on my kitchen table where I have to sew. Purchased in 9/25 & have really been impressed with this. I basically make craft projects w/quilting & the occasional hemming, etc. It’s really nice to use. I like that I can use the pedal or not, can use fancy top stitching to make the project stand out. The needle lift & reverse button is great! I don’t think this machine has been fussy about anything I throw at it so far- highly recommend Brother sewing machines.

I am a beginner. Probably overkill, since I am not likely to ever get into embroiding or sophisticated clothes design. But I bought this machine for its simplicity of threading, the complete ability to control speed without developing foot pedal dexterity, its light weight, and overall elegance and value. No regrets, and for the little jobs I wanted it for, perfect, and a feeling of accomplishment.
