I have had two other kitchen compost bins, one was stainless, and one was glass. They both set on my counter; this one however, hangs conveniently on a cabinet door. The top opens two different ways so that it is very easy to get scraps into. It’s plastic so that when I take the bin out to dump into the larger compost container, I can rinse this out with the hose. This is so much better than I expected it to be. I’m going to order another one to use in my laundry room.

Instead of walking to the trash can, this handy item lets me put all the scraps in the receptaclewhen I’m cutting vegetables. I cook a lot at home, so it makes it easy for me. . I gave it 4 stars because it is a bit hard to put a liner in & take out. Other than that, I am happy with it.

Handy. If you don't have a garbage disposal this is perfect for scraps. Just put a bag in it and take it out at night. No odor, even from onions.

I actually bought this for a clean client. I clean houses for a living. This works perfect for a small lint/garbage can in the laundry room. There wasn't really any place to put a small can so hanging inside a cabinet door was the solution. Durable. Easy to use. Bought 1 gallon liners to keep the can (plastic) clean. Good size.

This is a perfect little kitchen scrap bin…Pros:1) both under and top surfaces of lid are completely smooth & easy to clean.2) the bin itself is also completely smooth inside & out, making it very easy to keep clean.3) it fits those plastic produce bags perfectly that you get at supermarkets (the ones fused in the bottom center, not the ones with the straight seem across the bottom).4) very easy to operate. This is a very cute, small food compost basket, but unfortunately I had to return it twice. The first time, it arrived incorrectly assembled—the lid was installed backwards. The second replacement had a different issue: every time I lifted the lid, it would pull the plastic compost bin up with it. My only workaround was to leave the lid off all the time, but that defeated the purpose since I was concerned about odors. If you consider these to be minor issues, it’s still a cute compost basket. Unfortunately, they were significant enough for me to return it

I am very disappointed in this purchase for multiple reasons. First of all, I purchased this white container to replace an opaque container whose dimensions were supposedly slightly smaller in all 3 aspects (WxHxL). My only goal was to transfer the contents of my existing container to the white container so that the items would now be concealed for privacy reasons. However, I was very frustrated that the product dimensions (W6.3in x L10.24in xH 9.45in) received were not as described.
