Edifier G5 MAX Gaming Headset, 305H Battery, THX Audio, Space Grey

First off, I purchased these to test their 2.4GHz range. I have tested headsets such as the SteelSeries Arctis 7 (not the Nova series) and the Audeze Maxwell (v.1), a couple of earbud designs, among others.So far the Audeze Maxwell has shown the best 2.4GHz performance.At 73 I don't feel confident any more to judge audio qualities, but I would say that the Maxwell also has exhibited the best audio performance.Now comes the Edifier G5 Max Gaming Headset.Its 2.4GHz performance is far superior to the Maxwell. I have fairly high end headphones for gaming. My regular most used are the ASTRO A40's, which it doesn't look like you can get new any longer. They were $250 when I got them. They are SO comfortable that I forget I have them on. They have a nice balanced sound to the audio as well with good spatial accuracy even though they are just a stereo setup. I also have the Skullcandy Crusher Plyr 720's which I rarely ever use because they aren't as comfortable.All that said I have a large head, and I have to be picky with headphones because of it. I've had quite a few gaming headset, budget oriented and premium, and in many categories - this Edifier G5 MAX Gaming Headset seems to stand alone. Very nice gaming headset. Its very well made and the quality for the price is surprising. The hinges are metal (aluminum I think, because they are very lightweight too). The earpads are super plush and comfy, made of leatherette and make a good seal and are comfy for glass wearers too, however they can get very spicy hot after a while if your room temps are high. Edifier's G5 Max is one heck of a gaming headset. For its price, I didn't expect half of the things I got.
