They charge with USB c and the solar panel charges faster but, also still charges in low light which the micro USB solar panels I got separately for the older models do not. These have better picture and video quality but, also have a light so you get color night vision. This model has the option for person only detection however, what I wanted the older model to do is be set off by everything including cars. I have been using this for more than 8 months works perfectly fine. The app doesn't record whole video even with microSD card inserted. If there is a motion detected there will be small clip. So far I have no complaints. It charges every day to 100%.

I should have not buy the camera, now all I do is spying on my chickens!! The battery life is excellent and the solar power charges it pretty good even on light cloudy days! I only have this camera for few weeks but so far I’m happy with it and will update the review if anything changes! The connection is good as I have my chicken coop at the edge of my backyard as in the picture. I’ve owned and use several LaView cameras for years of satisfaction, so I know how to install and program them. This is the first camera I returned for a full refund, here’s why. 1. Long delay and inconsistent WiFi access, often crashed app when attempting to access and this was within 8 ft router during a four day test prior to installation at a much farther location. 2. Camera has good picture quality, but my biggest complaint is that it only has event recording, instead of continuous recording that I can go back and review and it always ends it's event way too quickly

I’ve been super happy with my other LaView cameras, but these ones have been pretty bad. Half the time I couldn’t connect to them even when one of them was right next to the router, the lenses on the inside are foggy and I can barely see, and now one of them does not turn on anymore. I’ve only had them 13 months.
