This Lenovo computer is a good choice for everyday computer work and browsing. Very pleased with performance.

There in no keyboard light for it

The laptop seemed fine, but on set-up glitched and made me a standard user instead of an admin, which limited everything I could do, then wouldn't let me override or factory reset it to start over. When I contacted Lenovo support I found out that it only had a warranty in Kenya, Africa. I'm in Washington DC. Thankfully I was able to return it for a full refund. But beware of this seller.

Amazing laptop. The color I got didn't match the pics but I like what I received way better than the silver as advertised. Mine is like between a Navy Blue and a Black. I do photo editing and its i5 processor handles everything I do quite well. Windows boots up and turns off in seconds. It's 8 GB of RAM will suffice and doesn't seem to hinder my work. The IPS touchscreen, Dolby audio and fingerprint scanner makes it worth the money. I was worried the 14" screen would be too small for my liking but it suits me well and makes it lighter and easier to carry around. Only had it for a short time bu

This laptop is amazing! I have Ubuntu installed, and it is just a fun laptop to code on and work on math on! This sounds weird, but the keyboard is one of my favorite parts. The batter life is so-so (about 7.5-8 hours on a full charge), but nothing a different battery pack couldn't remedy. The screen is great, and honestly, I'm glad it's not a touchscreen like the newer ThinkPads.

Stopped working after 3 days. Excellent tech support but paid too much for it to have to put a paper clip in pin hole to get it working again. My third Lenovo and very disappointed in quality.

Overall, I'm very happy with this Lenovo Ideapad S540. I was looking for a lightweight computer, and this is perfect, both for size and weight. I also liked the fact that the speakers are on the top of the computer & not located behind like other models. I was getting really good sound, but suddenly I began experiencing volume issues. I've turned the master volume controls to 100% but it's like they're actually at 10% - I can't really hear anything well. That's very disappointing; in searching the internet, it seems it's a Windows 10 problem. Still trying to fix this...
