I've always have had a Linksys router, until my ISP recommended to switch to TP-Link which I absolutely HATED. I switch back to Linksys where its very easy to use its so much faster with less hassle. Love it!Only, thing I dont care for is it doesn't show lights on the front.

I had a Netgear Nighthawk for a little over 2 years that would not update firmware... my internet/cable provider gave me contact info & was never able to get anything resolved on the old router. I bought this router due to the fact that the Verizon supplied router only supported up to 300 square ft of range, causing half of my devices to have a poor connection. I am not a WiFi fan as a solution for connecting desktops since solid, consistent latency is a requirement for things like online gaming. Because of that, I have always run cable back to the router. We recently moved to a new house with a split design, the router on one end of the house, and my computer on the other end. A straight line from router to computer is probably something like 50', passing through several walls in between. This review is for the Linksys AC2200 EA8300 wireless router. I was worried about the antennas not being removable. In the past I used a directional antenna and am no longer able to use it with this router since the antennas cannot be unscrewed and replaced. As it turns out it doesn't really seem to matter - the range seems to be just as good as with my directional antenna. I bought this because my Verizon /Frontier FiOS modem router was eight years old and couldn’t handle all of our devices. It seems like everything is Internet and Wi-Fi based now. After reading the reviews I chose the router. Plugged it into the old one for fear it wouldn’t work on its own due to FiOS hardware being fickle. This thing showed immediate improvement. I don't get all the negative reviews for this router. For the price, it's a great router. We've had one for almost 2 years with no issues. We have 30 devices connected to it (6 ethernet, 24 wifi) and they are all rock-solid. We have a 2800 sq. ft. house, mostly on 1 floor (only one room on the 2nd floor) and the wifi has no problem connecting throughout the house.
