    This is a great addition to my sewing tools. Adhesion is excellent. Assembly is simple. Great quality. I wish the light shaft were a bit longer. So that I could attach it to a mat under my sewing machine instead of my sewing machine. I hit it as I sew so it can’t be used alone. I have to mark my sewing machine with tape to make sure I don’t accidentally move the laser.

    Really helps get straight quilting lines.

    Works great! Allows you to see your lines about 8 in ahead to place fabric in line with marked quilting lines. Allows fewer marked guidlines.

    Old design and weak at distance

    This laser guide tool is made for sewing machines, but suggests other uses as well, such as cutting wood. I was hoping it would work well for placing a line on a wall while shelving is being laid out. Unfortunately it is not. The laser becomes very faint and wide at a distance of only a meter. This is only going to be useful when the object being illuminated is a few centimeters away from the lens. Sewing may be the one thing, but even at close range and focused, the guide is at least a millimeter wide. For sewing, a pencil will probably work better, especially since the mark will move with th
