    Really useful addition to my machine

    The product arrived after first shipment was damage and sent back. The product was not the proper color (white received, ordered black arms) and paid for an electric awning, yet received a manual awning. I do believe the is a price difference and expect a refund. At this point we have only checked for damaged parts, and do not know if all parts were in box, as the box fell apart at FedX warehouse. Will follow up!

    Janome Thread Spool Stand #858402009

    This spool holder does NOT fit the 9400 but the only difference is the thread guide. This one requires a square opening and the correct model for the 9400 uses a round hole (where the extra spool pin fits on the top of your machine.)Sew Vac Direct supplied mine and were so very nice to send me the correct thread guide, instead of mailing the entire holder back. Such a nice Texas based company! Thank you, Lisa!The holder screws securely into the top back of your machine and allows you to use upright cones of thread that wouldn’t ordinarily fit on the usual horizontal pin.     Where to put the metal thread guide

    The thread holder was very easy to install on the back of my Janome 7700 QCP without instructions. I did not intuitively know how the metal thread guide was supposed to fit into the hole for the extra spool pin. I firmly pushed the metal thread guide into this square hole with the metal loop of the thread guide toward the back of the sewing machine and it works great! It doesn’t look like it will fit, but it does. I hope this helps anyone who was wondering where the metal thread guide goes.

    Kind of disappointed in this. The spool holders don't work on that many different cones. The size is kind of small for its purpose. May be smarter and cheaper to get a no-name thread stand w/a heavy base.
