Let me start by saying I have been sewing for over 50 years. I got out of the habit while I was working, but returned after retirement, with failing eyesight. This is my second serger. The first, the Husqvarna Huskylock S21, was a big mistake. Although it had many great features that convinced me to buy it, it cost way too much ($950!), was difficult to thread, had tension problems, and sat collecting dust for two years before I finally parted with it, at a tremendous loss. I love to sew knits and my new Janome made my sewing life much easier for me. So far I am primarily using this serger for sewing seams fast and secure. As I learn the machine's many capabilies, I know I will use many of the other features. It is very easy to use, not loud, and threading is a breeze with the clear directions in the documentation and those on the machine. I would recommend sewers to have this serger as it is easy to use and is a very reliable product.

I was scare to thread the machine but not difficult following the instruction clearly. Do a beautiful threads. The only thing little noisy but doing a great job . Steady machine and reasonable price. I love it

I absolutely love this Janome Serger. I was going to get a Brother serger but this beauty caught my eye. Since getting this serger it has been a life saver, it sews like butter and makes sewing garments much faster and the seams are clean. The machine came threaded which was awesome since I had never owned a serger before and trying to thread it for the first time seemed intimidating. So not having to thread before using it was nice. The manual helps a lot, and there's a coupls tools for you. There's a long tweezer to help with threading when it comes time to doing that, which definitely helpe

Been using this guy for a couple months now and I love it. It comes in a large box with 4 small cone white thread already threaded into the machine which makes the set up so much easier. The thread runs out after a few uses but it'll last you until you get your replacement set of cone threads. Read the instructions and test run your machine with scrap fabric until you're happy with how it serge. It's a bit tricky to thread it when you want to change the thread color but it not anything someone can figure out by sitting in front of it and reading the diagrams for a bit (the inside has a threadi

We were able to have the machine do the stitch we wanted by adjusting the tensions. The lower looper is difficult to UNDERSTAND how to thread when you get to the last three steps. You really have to get down on the floor and look up into the machine on the left side to see the last two guides this thread has to go thru. The other threads were simple to follow by the guides. I was just surprised at how much noise this machine makes, guess I need the noise cancelling mat. The front cover rattles too, but seems to be part of the mechanism. This machine is excellent in every way. The instructions have to be followed exactly and this requires one to read and understand the manual completely. If you do this and you don't accidentally feed metal through the needles you will probably enjoy having this machine for a very very long time. I've used it to make bags and clothing and piping and all kinds of things or I use it without any thread to cut out shapes from fabric.
