RIOWOIS Powered Bookshelf Speakers, Desktop Speakers for Record Player

I don't know what to say about these speakers as I'm simply blown away. The price is $10 higher at $50 than when I bought them in late April. But they are still a bargain. As a "reveal", I am a "child of Studio 54, the Paladium and various clubs of the 1970s and 80s NYC" so my review here can be based on the "sound" I've been accustomed to from those "old days". Great little set of wireless Bluetooth speakers that I picked up for my daughter‘s portable turntable. For the money, I was quite pleased. It sometimes has a little bit of flakiness with making the initial BT connection, but after that, no loss of connection during play, and sound quality is respectable. Heck of a lot better than the internal speakers on the turntable.

These are great little speakers. First of all, they look great with a nice wood grain finish and rounded corners. The grill covers are removable if you want that cool look of an exposed tweeter and woofer. Surprisingly good sound quality for the size. I love the look of them, they fit very well on my bookshelf with my record player. My only complaint is that it's sometimes hard to connect the Bluetooth, but that's mostly my fault because I forget which button to press. Very fun getting to play my records on these and get to hear them with good sound quality. I've probably had them for six months now and they've held up very well so far.

Out of the box these speakers have some serious harmonics ("boomy" at 100hz and 200 Hz) are unpleasant without some EQ/Equalization. I ran pink noise and did a spectrum analysis and there's spikes at - 1st/3rd and 50th harmonics. After EQ they sound pretty good. 100 Hz, 200 Hz, 5 kHz. See the attached EQ settings require to fix this - which made a big improvement but this shows there was not much care in fixing these issues at manufacturing. First set arrived and when we tried to hook them up to our turntable we discovered the connection was broken. So back they went and I ordered another set. All hooked up now and we're very happy with these speakers. The sound is nice, they look good and I'm happily playing my old vinyl again.

These replaced a 15 year old 2.1 plug in setup for my computer. Main uses are to watch TV, Movies, YouTube and such. I an not an audiophile, just an older guy slowly going deaf as one does.Because they are Bluetooth, I could easily position them across the room, close to my chair, keep the volume reasonable, and not disturb others. Bluetooth connection was easy and intuitive. There is an English guide if needed, but I haven't read it. Plug it in, push some buttons until something flashes, and do the same on the computer.Bass response is good, Mid-range is where I live, and I cannot comment muc
