I'm a sucker for a good thriller and purchased this book on a hunch and a whim. I can tell you, that was one of the best spontaneous purchases I've ever made! I am a stay at home mom with a full schedule, and still got this book read in two weeks! I could not put it down! This has been one of the best books I've read. The suspense builds and builds, and just when you think you've figured it out it turns a curve. It will have you thinking, and it made me feel like I was on this adventure with the main character. A quick fun read! I enjoyed it, not super long and great little PI novel! I’d definitely read another mystery by the author.

Ok. First off. I have no idea how to write a novel and truly admire people who do. This author is talented. This is just my opinion. If I don’t believe that certain situations would happen I kind of lose interest in the book. That said the characters on here were good. Its first person novel so I enjoyed that. The description of New York in the fall and the rain descriptions was very well done. The main character Hazel was a little bit corny to me. I enjoyed the novel overall. Continue to write Daniel. I appreciate you.

This is a page-turner. Excellent writing, and the story arc is so enticing that I had to force myself to stop reading from time to time in order to get something else accomplished. But I loved it!! You can't go wrong with a Daniel G. Miller book.

This book really has you thinking. Is it all connected? Was she manipulated, kidnapped, or left voluntary?? The whole book has you guessing. Either you know or have no idea what's going on. It's a steady pace book that builds the story. The last couple of chapters take it there!! That's how you FIGHT OR FLIGHT!! (By Kate) I am obsessed with this book! I couldn’t put it down and read 95% of the book in one sitting. After finishing OBTL, I sent an email to Mr. Miller to tell him how much I loved the book. The characters had so many layers to them. Each layer leaving me more shocked than the one before. His writing is captivating. I saw the note about The Red Letter in the author’s note and immediately went to Amazon to buy it, only to find out I still had to wait another five months at the time until it is released in paperback. I was sad at first, but now I have something to look forward to in February
