After asking Amazon AI, it was suggested that someone setup the camera up and changed internal settings. After a factory reset the night mode worked. Buyer beware! This camera does not have a 4K sensor at all! It is at best is a regular HD (1920x1080) sensor! Look at the photo of the camera set to 4K mode (3840x2160 in the configuration GUI) and 1080P mode... what is seen is that the camera adds sharpening to the 4K video or removes sharpening from the 1080P video. I bought this for my warehouse as some thieves stole my last one. Not only was this so much easier to install but once installed, cannot really be stolen. I personally like that its wired and when it comes to picture quality, this thing is absolutely amazing.
