In the guesthouse that I rent out for short-stays, I had a fairly okay knife block with a collection of my cast-off knives, ones I had replaced with better ones, or had inherited somehow. I really like these knifes and kitchen scissors kit. They are very sharp! Good thing they came with a block to protect yourself as well as them. The bread knife has good ridges. The chef knife is very sharp and perfect shape for chopping herbs, onions, garlic, etc. The pairing knife is also a good size to cut fruit. The other knife is really nice! It has ridges and it’s a great size for cutting meat in my opinion. It looks like a smaller size cleaver but can also be used for vegetables. The block has a sharpening tool but I didn’t use that yet. I was skeptical at first but I’m very pleased now

The Katisun eight piece knife set does just what it is supposed to. Its sleek block holds the knives and built-in sharpener without taking up too much counter space. The knives feel substantial when holding and cutting without being too light and flimsy. The test out of the box was to cut an overly ripe tomato, which it handled without crushing or smushing like my previous knives. They are definitely sharp and I look forward to seeing how long until I need to sharpen them. It says you can put them in the dishwasher but I always prefer to hand wash my knives.
