ANNKE 16CH 4K/8MP DVR for Security Camera, AI Motion Detection, No HDD

This is my fourth Annke DVR (three homes) and my eighth product from them. Overall they are solid products. I would suggest buying the higher end (16 channel) DVR the first time if you can afford it. That way you can expand your coverage without having to upgrade. If cost is an issue they offer units (8 and 16 channel) without a hard drive. You can buy a good "security" grade hard drive on Amazon for cheap (1T for less than $40, 3T for less than $80). The technical support is so so. Don't get me wrong, they try. I purchased the D961BB model (16 ch with no HDD). I had reviewed their manual (D961BB_User_Manual.PDF) before my purchase, and was impressed with all of the options it had. Once I received the device, I started finding that many of the options in the manual were not available on my device. When I contacted support, it took 2 weeks of email exchanges for their product manager to finally say this was a generic manual, when it clearly had D961BB in the manual name. I already have Cantek DVR/NVR but it is 1080p only, so I started looking for UHD DVD/NVR.Because there are affordable 5MP and 8MP cameras on the market, I purchased couple of them; Honic Clear Night Vision 5MP. I have installed and returned 3 DVRs before this one and NONE of them compare to the high quality and simplicity of this one!Instructions are fabulous! It includes clear pictures that match.Setup is super easy, even with different brands of cameras.The picture quality is really really great .you have full control of your system yourself without no monthly cost .I could not rate the tech support because I didn't even need them.I am so impressed with this dvr recorder that I have already recommended to a neighbor about this company for his new house build.

Well for the most part I am pretty happy!Install was pretty straight forward except I was upgrading from a 2k 5mp DVR which was basically the same as this except it wasn't 4K. To start with I have all my cameras wired as AHD and they didn't work with this box until I went and manually changed all their dip switches to TVI HD which is a royal pain in the a$$ when you have 16 cameras to deal with. The app is way better than the xmeye app I was previously using as that is full of adds and not very quick to open and view the cameras which is the point of having the app in the first place. Decent System. Only supports 8 IP Cameras. I have 12. So, my bad I guess. Didn;t read the fine print. So now I need to find a way to record the extra 4+ more cameras. Had plans to expand to a total of 16. Fence line etc....
