APC BE600M1 UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector for Computer, Router, NAS

We have suffered some short power outages (between 5 - 10 seconds) pretty often recently. It would take several minutes for our mesh router to get back online and several minutes for the satellites to then establish connectivity. This has cut the time to establish internet connection in half. I am considering purchasing a smaller UPS for the satellites.I would recommend this product.

Bought this to keep track of my smart home features and camera when power is out. I have blink cameras, and multiple water sensors, security sensors on the home. They are all battery powered and dependent on WiFi. Power doesn't go out often in my area, but when it does I completely loose WiFi and access to my cameras/sensors. I bought this UPS based on the features. 600va is the sweet spot for people who need basic protection for a few hours during a power event.I installed this unit in our family cabin where power can fluctuate frequently. I connected my DSL router, a small LED light and a Nest camera. I tested the runtime by waiting for the unit to become fully charged, then unplugged it with the three devices left on. I have used APC battery backups for nearly as long as I've owned computers, and my first one was in the 80s - right about the time APC started their company. Dumb Engineering - you have to take off the back cover, take out the battery, and connect one lead to the battery. This connection is a difficult press-fit. I managed to get it on, my wife would not have been able to, and would have pulled back when sparks ("Sparks flying when this connection is being made are normal" - from the Manual) started flying.Then on the top where the plugs are, some of the plugs get surge protection AND battery backup, and some only get surge protection - no back up. I have a very old (10+ years) APC 500VA/300W UPS that wasn’t working anymore. When power is lost, it wouldn’t switch over to battery power anymore to keep my devices running. Everything would just turn off and I’d get a noisy alarm sounding from the UPS.
