This book was so fun. I liked the first book a lot more than this one. This one was a bit more predictable than the first one. This writer is really funny! There were a lot of parts I was laughing in public. I had a lot of favorite quotes. This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year. While I loved most of the book, some parts left me slightly disappointed.Alexis has been revealed as Hercules and heir to the House of Hades. Absolutely loved both books. Finally something different. Alexis is amazing character and Nyx adds so much edge to the book( she is fun). Can’t wait to read next book, would like to see who really Charlie is and how his story with Helen develops.

There were a lot of fun elements but it feels like a lot of plot points were dropped. It was fast paced and there were some cool fight scenes. I also liked the development of the protectors and how the fmc interacted with them. The banter between the fmc and some of the other characters was also really fun. However it seemed at the end of the last book, we were going to a meek mannered turned vengeful fmc, but it didn't seem like she changed much. I literally speed read through both books because they were enthralling! I loved the different POVs and Alexis's inner thoughts cracked me up. The world building was impressive. The storyline never slowed, there were no boring moments. I highly recommend this duet, I'm so glad that I took the chance on an author I've never read before.

I enjoy a slow build but waiting till the very end was anticlimactic and a bit disappointing. Like meeting a "dom" whose got all the right words but doesn't know the first thing about bdsm.Also, someone recommended me this book but you cannot start with this one. I got two chapters in before realizing it was a book 2. It is not a standalone, start from the first book.
