I read it on the train, I read it on the bus (mind you, I get motion sickness fairly easily, but I found this to be worth it, and tbh, was so focused I didn't even really get that sick), and I read it in line to wait for the baseball stadium to open its gates for an hour in the cold, and my fingers nearly froze off. First, a note about the audio. Someone please let me know when the narrators go back to being how they were in Zodiac Academy because the over-the-top performance was so distracting I had to shut it off before I DNF’d 😭 I had to switch to the ebook just to finish. I read many of the reviews before starting, but I read this and I am glad I did. I am a bit disappointed in our FMC, Ferris but the authors did well because I am (disappointed). She is a little self absorbed and seems to miss every insight given because of this. Buuut we wouldn’t have a second book without it so I will happily continue. I am also disappointed in Hendrix so again kudos to the authors. Hendrix is overwhelmed by his grief and although I understand I can see the whys of the plot with this. I really enjoyed this book. This is my first twisted sisters book. I'm in LOVE. I really enjoyed the FMC. I like how she was written as someone that used her brain to win her battles. She's tenacious, feral, and driven. I enjoyed the spooky forest feel, the unique animal spirits, and the SUPER moody MMC. The ending drove me crazy with Hendrix and his wants for the boon but putting myself in his place helped me understand him more. So incredibly well written, I have read over 50 books in the past 9 months and this is the best book that I have read in a long time. The story is so interesting and it kept my attention! True enemies to lovers(?) and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book.

This was a really cool concept and I enjoyed the enemies to lovers. I can’t wait for the second book. This book is very slow but picks up towards the end.
