Heavyweight blades, nice handles, good balance and SHARP! I cut myself the first time I used a knife from this set - so be careful - but hey, better sharp than not.Does not take up a lot of counter space and the wood block is quite beautiful.Just the right number and types of knives - no BS scissors or stupid sharpeners bulking it out.Well done - very pleased.

If you are looking for the basic necessities (excluding steak knives) give these a try. Good quality for this price point and you have a nice looking, functional, basic set of kitchen knives with moderate weight to them. BONUS: The "block" looks nice on your countertop!
