I bought this to replace my 20-year-old Sony CD/radio/cassette shelf unit, because the CD player had stopped working. The radio still worked but I missed playing my CD's and wanted another compact shelf system with AM/FM radio. I went back to the radio, still good. But now, it can play nothing but the radio. The CD appears to load up and play a CD, but no sound comes out, just mild static. I switch to BT, no sound, just static. The BT is definitely connected, as the stereo buttons will navigate the songs on the phone. I tried unplugging the device to see if that would 'reset' it. I set up the 3-piece radio/CD with the 2 speakers in under 5 minutes. I was thrilled. That's why it stayed in the box for so long- I was busy and did not want to fiddle with a list of instructions. Was said to be silver but is pure white, which does not matter description was wrong about this. Although I am glade I held on to the packing it came in, because I specifically bought because it will play CD's. Problem so far out of trying 12 Cd's now it has only played 5 without an error message coming up. I am trying error message cd's in other cars I have from factory '99 cd player to '14 and aftermarket Kenwood bought in '24 and they all play fine there so far but still not when trying to play in the new Magnavox 3-piece CD Shelf System. Thinking it needs to be returned?
