I believe the scale measure accurately; it definitely is sensitive to reading the smallest changes in the amount of flour I add to my jar. I can weigh my jar then zero out that amount so the scale is only showing the amount of flour or water I've added. I can confirm the scale wipes clean easily because I usually end up getting flour all over the place. While I bought this specifically to use in the kitchen, I've also used it to weigh an envelope to figure out how much postage it needed.Overall
