I like the updated digital controls, time duration is shown now. Mine is a good 10yrs old now, works fine but has older style controls. The "burner" on this one is 8", mine is 6.5", that makes a positive difference. I live alone & I'm not a cookaholic. My meals are simple, a higher priority is not to burn things so I'm a lower temperature cook. My test burger cooked up fine. . I'll use the older one as a second burner for vegetables.I like the NuWave format for the heat control settings. Other brands do not offer that fine level of temperature control. Above all I am a popcorn addict. The low

Who needs a gas stove or an outdoor burner when you have the Nuwave Precision Induction Cooktop? I cook a lot of fried fish and spicy dishes, and like most people, my kitchen vent doesn’t catch all the smoke or smell. So I started cooking on my deck using this cooktop, and it’s honestly one of the best purchases I’ve made.I plug it right into the outdoor outlet using a short extension cord, set it on my deck table, and I’m good to go.This thing heats FAST—it can simmer gently or sear at 450°F+ in seconds. It gives me gas-stove-level heat control without an actual flame. Perfect for frying fish
This review is for the NuWave Gold Precision Induction Cook-top (PIC).I received the unit in excellent condition; no visible damage to external packaging and it arrived on the scheduled date; excellent work NuWave/Amazon. I unpacked the NuWave and reviewed the instructions. Other than the slight odor from the first few uses, as is stated in manual, I have had no problems with the unit so far.I have to say the NuWave Gold PIC is by far so much easier to control the cooking process than the almost new Frigidaire gas range that came with my current home. While that range has control knobs that ro
There is a lot to like about this piece of equipment. But first, let’s go over the negatives. It’s pretty lightweight and can slide around your countertop if you are getting aggressive with your pan. It’s also noisy. This is something that I hadn’t figured. The noise comes entirely from a fan on the bottom. While the fan noise does serve as a constant reminder that the system is heating, I’d rather not have it. I can only assume that the fan is whisking away heat from the components inside and has not to do with the pan’s heat.I can tell you that it gets your pan up to temperature faster than
I tried induction for the first time and it was pretty neat! The pot got hot but the surface did not and the device itself didn't produce heat directly either! Though the device does have components that do get warm so there is a fan that runs when you use it to keep the components cool. This means that you don't have to worry about the surface you put the device on. That said, you do have to be mindful of magnetic surfaces or electrical devices being beat the cooker when in use. It works with electromagnets and coils to transfer heat to something within the electric field. While heat can only
I wish I has purchased this years ago! It is a great little portable cooktop. The temps remain consistent (unlike our glass top stove) and it cooks foods evenly. We can now cook smelly foods (fish, brussel sprouts, etc...) outside and not stink up the house! The downside is you have to buy induction cookware but if you aren't using this as your main cooktop you should only need two different sized pans.
This is third induction burner we’ve bought in the last two years. The other two quit for various reasons. This one is noticeably better than the others. This burner has a much better temperature adjustment. The first we bought basically had high, medium, low, and boil. It worked really well but you didn’t have a lot of room to adjust the temp. The second one showed the actual temperature but made huge jumps between the temps, like you could go from 260 to 212 to 150. On this burner you can change the temperature in increments of 5 - 10 degrees. It makes it so much easier to control how fast yo
I bought two of these Nuwave Gold Precision induction-type cooktops because the Viking stove at the house that I’m currently renting was leaking gas/propane into the house from the stove itself. Life was hectic at the time, so instead of insisting on the owners fixing it, I just bought two of these. They’re easy to operate and definitely heat up quickly and are relatively quiet (sort of a low gurgling hiss sound). The only drawback was that I had to attach 2 separate three-prong power extension cords and plug each of the two cooktops into their own respective / separate wall outlet, because th
