An EXCELLENT upgrade from a basic analog wired system! I waited for YEARS to buy a NVR/POE system and this is well worth the money. Comes with 8 cameras, upgradable to 16. I wired everything down into an under-stairs closet empty wall cavity, installed a 1/4 size network rack enclosure, and terminated each wire run into a patch panel. The NVR fits on a basic shelf inside the rack and I used 12" patch cables to interface directly to the patch panel.Early on I ran into a phenomenon I can only describe as a camera "glitch." Worked with my existing Ethernet cables from my old system. So no installation needed. Just swapped out the cameras and recording unit. Works great, day and night images are both excellent.

First, the good. These cameras produce a nice, sharp image with fluid motion at 30 fps. Night vision clarity is excellent, although the onboard IR illumination range is far less than the claimed 100 ft. range. Actual useful range is about 30-40 ft., unless there is another light source nearby. Updated Review: After countless hours spending on trying to get this system working. I was able to connect the camera to the ethernet cable closest to the system and it is able to pick up the new camera. When I try to connect it to a ethernet cable that is 25 ft away it is not able to get enough power. I had to resort back to my old system where the camera and system is able to pick the camera with no issues.
